⁣1940's film. They Drive by Night, film noir directed by Raoul Walsh and starring George Raft, Ann Sheridan, Ida Lupino, and Humphrey Bogart,Brothers Joe and Paul Fabrini are independent truck drivers who make a meager living transporting goods. Joe convinces Paul to start their own small, one-truck business, staying one step ahead of loan shark Farnsworth, who is trying to repossess their truck.

⁣Murder by Contract is a 1958 American film noir crime film directed by Irving Lerner. Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Ben Maddow did uncredited work on the film. In honor of Halloween, here is a fun version of "I Enjoy Being a Girl," performed by Carol Burnett, Chita Rivera and Caterina Valente . The clip is from "The Entertainers" (so sometime between 1964/1965...which happened to be when "The Addams Family" was also on the air...hence it being more likely to be inspired by Morticia than Vampira...the latter of which was inspired by the character that would become Morticia in the original comics, so...).

There is also a cameo by Boris Karloff....who starts us off as a gravedigger and also shows up at the end to do, of all things, a version of "Chim Chim Cher-ee" from Mary Poppins, which sadly is truncated as the guy who loaded in the clip was only caring about Chita (curse him, not me :)

Mr. Tudball (Tim Conway) and Mrs. Wiggins (Carol Burnett) are at it again, using the office intercom… but their lines of communication keep getting crossed.

Harry and Willie buy the Edison Movie Studio in the year 1912 from Joseph Gorman, a confidence man. They follow Gorman to Hollywood where, as stunt men, they find him directing movies as Sergei Trumanoff and stealing the studio payroll. Nightmare is a 1956 American film noir crime film directed by Maxwell Shane and starring Edward G. Robinson, Kevin McCarthy and Connie Russell.

The story is based on a novel by William Irish (a pseudonym of Cornell Woolrich). The book had been previously adapted as the 1947 film Fear in the Night, originally titled Nightmare, also written and directed by Shane.

Plot
New Orleans big-band clarinetist Stan Grayson experiences a nightmare in which he sees himself killing a man in a mirrored room, while in the background haunting dirge-like music plays. He awakens to find blood on himself, bruises on his neck and a key from the dream in his hand.

Grayson tells his brother-in-law, police detective Rene Bressard, about the problem but is dismissed. Later, the two men take a picnic in the country with Grayson's girlfriend and sister. Grayson leads them to the empty house from his dream, and it begins to rain. After they find a record player and begin dancing, Grayson's girlfriend bumps into the phonograph, changing the speed. The slowed music becomes the song from Grayson's nightmare. They then discover that the house contains a mirrored room as in Grayson's dream. When he finds that a murder did indeed take place, Bressard suspects Grayson.

Grayson, stressed and suicidal, protests his innocence, which makes Bressard dig deeper. They learn that a hypnotist living in Grayson's building may have caused him to commit the murder. Bressard now must prove that although Grayson committed the murder, he was acting against his will.

Synopsis:
Charles Alderson and his wife settle in the Wyoming Territory, and form a lasting friendship with Thomas Jefferson "Windy" Gibson. Alderson's wife dies in childbirth, leaving him with an infant daughter, who he sends to Europe for an education. During the years in which she is abroad, Alderson becomes a wealthy cattle baron. The daughter, Karen, returns to Wyoming soon after it has been admitted to statehood. She finds that much of the land her father has considered as his own is now open to homesteaders, and that hostilities have broken out between the two factions. Alderson's foreman, Glenn Forrester, a former lawyer with whom Karen falls in love, warns Alderson against using violence in dealing with the homesteaders. Duke Lassiter, a smooth operator dealing in cattle rustling, sets himself up as a spokesman for the homesteaders and uses their fight with Alderson to further his own interests. When Lassister murders Windy, Alderson hires a gang of outlaws to war on the homesteaders.
