Abbott and Costello, as railroad baggage clerks, receive a strange shipment the last remains of Dracula and Frankenstein's monster. But this deadly duo is still very much alive. So when the shipment arrives at the House of Horrors, the Monsters are not in their crates but have disappeared to a secret hideaway island. Blamed for the disappearance, Abbott and Costello follow their trail to the island, where not only do they meet up with Dracula (Bela Lugosi) and the Monster (Glenn Strange), but a Mad Scientist (Charles Bradstreet) who wants to switch Costello's brain with that of the Monster. With everyone chasing each other, the Wolf Man (Lon Chaney, Jr.) shows up to scare them all. In the end, everything works out: Costello finds romance and the Monsters find their final resting places...or do they?

CLIP DESCRIPTION:
When circumstance prevents Chick (Bud Abbott) from seeing the monsters, Wilbur (Lou Costello) tries to show them to him.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
It seems that Count Dracula (Bela Lugosi), in league with a beautiful but diabolical lady scientist (Lenore Aubert), needs a "simple, pliable" brain with which to reactivate Frankenstein's creature (Glenn Strange). The "ideal" brain belongs to the hapless Lou Costello, whom the lady doctor woos to gain his confidence and lure him to the operating table. Lawrence Talbot (Lon Chaney Jr.), better known as the Wolf Man, arrives on the scene to warn Costello and his pal Bud Abbott of Dracula's nefarious schemes. Throughout the film, the timorous Costello witnesses the nocturnal rituals of Dracula and the Monster, but can't convince the ever-doubting Abbott--until the wild climax in Dracula's castle, where the comedians are pursued by all three of the film's monstrosities. As a bonus, the Invisible Man (voiced by an unbilled Vincent Price) shows up for "all the excitement."

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein is a Universal International film from 1948 features Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolf Man, and even a glimpse of the Invisible Man. In Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, the remains of Frankenstein and Dracula are being sent to a house of horrors, and Chick and Wilbur (Abbott and Costello) have to personally deliver them.

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein stars Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney, Jr, and Glenn Strange. It has behind the scenes stories for days, including temper tantrums and pie fights.

For some, Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein sullies the reputation of the Universal Monsters, but many others consider it their favorite movie. You'll have to watch to find out my opinion!
