Inner Sanctum is a movie about a murderer who is on the lam and hiding out in a small town. Unbeknownst to him, he is not only hiding in the same boarding house as the only witness to his crime, he is sharing the same room.
The story is framed with the murder victim speaking with a mysterious man who warns her not to leave the train at the next stop. Laughing that she ignores warning the mysterious man relates the story of the murder without revealing that she is the victim.
